Let's simply start meeting ourselves where we are currently at.
This weekend I spent with Joe Beaver at his roping clinic. I planned this on the front end of my journey back into the roping arena. I'm a believer in seeking out the best person to help with your learning and advancing to your goals.
I did another thing this week. I took Charlie to a jackpot and exhibitioned him. It was his first time to town. I, honestly, did not have any expectations for him.
So yesterday was the second day in the rope pen for me. As promised with #inthearena365 I would share the less shiny side, the less sexy side. The process is not always butterflies and roses.
So I did a thing today. I backed in the box.
It's been at least seven years since I last roped. It may have been longer but gosh I don't want to admit that time is flying that fast.
The old adage the fastest way between two points is a straight line is a true statement. Physics have proven in. It gets proven every day in the arena. We just got through ten days of scrutinizing and watching this take place in the little yellow arena in Vegas.
Happy New Year!!! It's 2020!!
I always get very optimistic around the new year, no matter what the last year was like. 2019, was on a new level for me. It brought a lot of growth, some amazing experiences, some pain and maturing, and one important lesson that I will be focusing on in 2020.
