You already have all the good things...

So I did a thing today. I backed in the box.

It's been at least seven years since I last roped. It may have been longer but gosh I don't want to admit that time is flying that fast.

The last time I breakawayed, it was on Seven. He was an amazing athlete and taught me so much. Seven was my dad's great head horse. I inherited him at 21. He ran barrels til he was 24 and then breakawayed during his retirement tour at age 25.

That was a good minute ago.

But I digress just a tad. So back to today. I backed into the box today on a horse named Tank. There is a lot of rust to knock off, but gosh there was a lot of good. I'm excited!

What I'm excited about is that there is a heck of a starting point to build off of. There is a foundation there. It's been a good minute since I've been in the rope pen. It reminds me of something one of my mentors often tells me. "You've got all the good things in there, now just go build off of it."

So no matter how this endeavor goes down, I'm excited about the process. I'm excited about #inthearena365. Today, I was. Today, I found that my foundation is pretty firm; it just needs some building.

This week's podcast is about the same thing. It is a different twist on New Year's resolutions.

So let's all take 2020 in the dirt and work through the process. The results will be on the other side.
