Let’s have a conversation about how our healthcare system might just be catching up with one of our favorite families of the future, the Jetsons. As we begin the winter season & the daylight disappears more quickly, it seems like its nearly impossible to fit everything into a day, especially when you add a trip to your local healthcare providers into the mix. However, what if I told you that it is possible to have an appointment with many of your healthcare providers from wherever is convenient for you via a video chat. In the healthcare world, we call this Telehealth.
Telehealth is especially useful when needing to get in touch with your practitioner or physical therapist about a specific problem or if you need a specialist that may not be available in your area. It can also be very useful tool for rural America or for individuals on the road all the time to access care. One downside to Telehealth, however, is it requires good internet access or cellular coverage to access the video chat mediums practitioners typically use. The other downside is a video chat will not allow any hands-on evaluation, so with that in mind, there is a time & a place for telehealth to help you achieve your goals.
Some ways we utilize telehealth at Rider’s Edge is offering telehealth consults where we will with you, your horse, or both to address a specific problem you are experiencing or provide a wellness visit. We can also act as a knowledge bridge, where we can video drop into an appointment with you & your local Physical Therapist & provide specialized insight on rider specific issues.
In 2020, Rider's Edge wants to help you get connected through telehealth. Rider's Edge will be giving away 20 telehealth visits in 2020! Message us today to set up an appointment.
